In line with the government’s priority to increase access and availability of mental health and wellbeing support for children and young people, the Mental Health Support Team (MHST) Service Manager role is an exciting opportunity to develop and deliver evidence-based early interventions for children and young people, working across both educational settings and healthcare sectors in England. The Thrive In Education Service Lead for Salford will be accountable for ensuring the effective management and delivery of their service - I Reach and be responsible to and accountable to the CAMHS CSU Director. The post holder will ensure the key functions of the role are undertaken through: effective management and leadership, collaborative working, supporting the delivery of performance targets, (including access and pathway targets), contracted activity levels, quality standards and quality of services.
The potholder will be leading innovation for Thrive In Education for Salford as well as creating frameworks for the development and enhancement of The CAMHS School Offer. Whilst the primary focus of the post will be the clinical leadership of the team, the potholder will be encouraged to foster Greater Manchester links in the overall interests of furthering knowledge and best practice.
The successful candidate will be employed full-time and based in Salford. The team has been in place for over 3 years and well established. The current post holder is going on secondment . The post holder will work in partnership with other service leads and managers in Manchester University NHS Foundation Trusts CAMHS Clinical Service Unit. MFT already has MHST established in Manchester with a new team commencing in Trafford. The successful candidate to maintain strong partnership working between education, the local authority and the CCG.
The post holder will manage the MHST providing line management, supervision and strategic leadership.
The successful candidate will need to have:
- Relevant qualification in a core profession pertaining to mental health and be a registered professional
- Experience of management, including line management, project and change management, service management and evaluation
- Experience working within children and young people’s services
The post holder will also be required to liaise and collaborate with colleagues of all disciplines involved in health and education services, There is an expectation that an agreed amount of time will be dedicated to training and development.
