At Safespaces, we design, manufacture and install specialist disability equipment across the UK and internationally.Our custom made safe rooms & beds are made from steel wood and PVC & fitted at home, in schools and hospitals. Our products are Class 1 medical devices. We are a growing company with a friendly, committed team of staff who are committed to maintaining high quality standards.
Hours of work: Mon-Friday 8am - 4.30pm Mon -Friday (1 hour break time).

Main Purpose
The main purpose of this job is to support the manufacturing team with a range of tasks, including assembly, quality control, packaging and transfer of products to our warehouse for despatch. You will also clean products using a power washer and other equipment and assist with stock control & warehouse storage. We are looking for a solution focused individual witha positive attitude to join our small friendly team.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
To attend work regularly and to represent the Safespaces business in a professional manner.
To assemble & disassemble products for quality checking prior to despatch using hand tools..
To clean products to required standards using power washer, steam cleaner industrial washing machine etc.
To complete all relevant paperwork for quality checks, cleaning, non conformance etc. and maintain quality standards,.
To receive deliveries of components, using Unleashed software and to batch the items received, such as bars and foam.
To load and unload vehicles, and transfer products to the warehouse as required
To work according to a tight production schedule & ensure steady workflow through the workshop.
To provide cover as required for the fabric cutter or installation technicians as required.
To carry out regular maintenance checks of equipment.
To adhere to all quality standards relating to the role, as part of a process of continuous improvement.
To participate in and contribute to work planning and team meetings
To follow and comply with Health and safety guidance.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Capable of undertaking physically demanding work including cutting, lifting & transportation of components & completed products.
Experience of using power, hand & cutting tools
The ability to assemble equipment constructed from metal bars, foam and PVC
Ability to use a computer and tablet to complete documentation
Ability to complete records and paperwork
Reliable, punctual and flexible
Good teamwork and communication skills and a respectful manner in dealing with others
Good numeracy and literacy
Practical problem solving skills and the ability to plan and work in an organised manner
Experience of cutting heavy duty fabric in a manufacturing environment
Ability to read and follow cutting patterns accurately
Ability to work on own initiative and under supervision
Be willing to undertake all relevant training for this role
A full clean driving license is desirable but not essential.
