We are seeking a Sector Analyst with a passion for driving results in professional services with a focus on client engagement. We are a lean and dynamic Energy Practice team with a focus on developing an impactful position for BCG in the market while driving our business with existing and new client relationships forward and supporting our consulting teams.
The Energy Sector Analyst will support with analysis of our business, product development, investment planning, as well as developing our client targeted communication across mailings, social media and events as well as analysing the resulting marketing impact. The analyst will work as part of our virtual teams reporting to our Global Sector Manager and strongly collaborate with marketing. You will support the Global Sector Leader and Segment Leaders in managing the operations of our Sectors. This includes but is not limited to:
Business Development: Financial analysis of client portfolios including priority clients, markets, and related investment initiatives (e.g., Campaigns or Big Bet); monitor lead flow, proposal pipeline and sold cases; help identify new opportunities for business and geographic expansion.
Product development and management: Working closely with the Energy Segment Leaders in defined Product Business lines to develop, identify and deploy strong intellectual capital to BCG's clients, to create competitive advantage and drive commercial activities. Coordinate priorities between the Sector / Topics and the Regions / Systems
"Tier 1" Projects: Support the planning and execution, monitor budgets, and support dissemination of related output materials
Knowledge Team: Act as an interface between Sector Management and the Knowledge Team, and exchange on Client and Content Development activities and Knowledge Products
People Management: Help build and coordinate the portfolio and pyramid of Sector aligned Consultants; map expertise and identify capacity gaps; monitor the Cohort pipeline; support Expert recruiting and other lateral hiring initiatives; support cross-office staffing, transfers and other Mobility initiatives
Communication and Training: Support the organization and planning of internal Sector meetings and Virtual Trainings
Sales and Go-to-Market and Support: Support Proposal Excellence initiatives (PEx), and facilitate best practice sharing across case teams; coordinate PA internal Go-to-Market communication
Planning & Reporting: Set up and execute Sector specific commercial planning processes, monthly and / or quarterly reporting routine, ad hoc analysis and related scorecards
Competitive Intelligence: Support screening and tracking of key competitor activities
Client-based marketing: Work with the Practice's Marketing team to develop, and roll out a series of client marketing activities including mailings, client specific events and connects, social media targeted campaigns and web customization. In addition, prepare the needed analysis of results achieved per client business assessment. Maintain key priority client databases and overviews, as well as analyze key market trends and proposal status for priority clients, to better enable business development and impactful marketing

The ideal candidate has an interest in business operations, and B2B marketing, and a motivation to work in Energy. In addition, the role requires strong analytical skills (Excel) combined with excellent writing and communication skills. As the role is heavily focused on written/PowerPoint communication, fluency in English is a must. Given the nature of the role, strong multitasking, time management, and organizational skills are essential. Finally, the right candidate will be flexible and independent with the ability to work in a virtual team environment spanning different time zones.

Must as a minimum have a Bachelor’s degree, and preferably 2-4 years’ experience from a business operations/analyst, B2B marketing, or sales role
High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
Fluent writing and verbal communication skills in English
Strong analytical and numerical skills
Very strong time management and project management skills
Experience with Salesforce or Marketo as well as LinkedIn Sales Navigator will be preferred.
Experience in the energy industry preferred
High motivation and interest for the energy topic is a must
Previous BCG experience, either as a Consultant or Knowledge Team member, is a plus
Must be able to work full-time and be flexible to accommodate meetings in different time zones
