We are looking for an experienced Warehouse Manager to join our team at our 60,000 square foot depot in Midsomer Norton.

The role:
You will be a key player in the management of the depot, interacting with all departments and directly managing the 12 staff in the warehouse on a daily basis.
Planning, co-ordinating, receiving and replenishment of good inwards into their respective storage areas adhering to STS guidelines, critical control points and the safe operation of mechanical handling equipment.
You may be required to work in cold environments at -25, relevant Health & Safety training will be provided and appropriate PPE will be issued.
This is a permanent, full-time position. Working hours are 8am – 5.30pm Monday to Friday with Saturdays worked on a Rota basis shared amongst other members of the management team.
Key responsibilities:
· Ensuring the safe, timely and accurate execution of all warehouse operations on the dayshift.
· Reviewing the workflow patterns, pick face layout and racking configuration in order to improve efficiency and accuracy.
· Planning rotas to sufficiently cover the days we are operational, notably the Saturday sharing.
· Recruitment and selection of new team members. Training, motivating and appraising.
· Goods Inwards – receive, check and batch coding of fresh meat, date checking of frozen, chilled and ambient products against purchase orders.
· Making sure that all stock replenishment and inter-depot transfer preparation is completed before the dayshift ends.
· The management and organisation of an annual stock-take ensuring the task is overseen accurately and delivered on time.
· Driving the practices of good stock management.
· To oversee and sign off all record keeping requirements (including ladder checks, forklift checks, intake documents, department registers, employee training sheets, temperature checks, cleaning checks and temperature calibration).
· Assist with the conformance to the STS food safety standards.
· Ensure all Health and Safety, hygiene and security requirements are being met within the warehouse.
· Ensure key communication with other departments in the business.
· Day-to-day management of your team ensuring operational objectives are met in line with KPI’s such as productivity, replenishment and inventory control.
· Manage employee relations cases in line with Company policies and procedures such as investigations, disciplinaries and absence management.
The ideal candidate:
An experienced professional that really understands distribution with a proven track record of delivering what’s needed to ensure safe and effective growth of the company. Intensely motivated with experience in a high-pressure environment, a positive attitude without being afraid to get stuck in to get it over the line.
Someone who can manage people effectively and efficiently. The ability to recognise which areas of the business need improving and pulling resources to solve the problem.
Essential experience and skills:
· A good collaborator with strong attention to detail and good problem-solving skills. Experience and knowledge of Health & Safety, Food Safety, and HACCP procedures.
· Forklift License – Reach (D1 or D2) or Bendi.
· In depth knowledge of a warehouse and stock management system.
· Performance management skills with an understanding of KPI’s.
· The ability to deliver training and team briefings, 1-2-1 training and appraisals.
· Extensive experience in warehousing and distribution processes is essential
· Experience in a similar role.
