Press Setter & FLT Driver role
A Great position has become available for an experienced candidate in manufacturing, to work as both a Press Setter and Counterbalance FLT Driver in Walsall, West Midlands.
The successful candidate will earn £11.50 per hour plus a 20% shift allowance. The working hours for the potential candidate will be from 6am to 2pm and 2pm to 10pm on rotational shifts each week. They also must be fairly flexible in their approach.
Role Requirements
- GCSE Mathematics and English plus supporting GCSE Achievements
- A Tool-making/Toolsetters/Engineering Qualification
- Counterbalance FLT Drivers licence
- Appropriate ROSPA or PUWER 98 Certification
- Must have experience of working in manufacturing to set and fix specific tools to the press machine to allow the machine to create car parts.

Role description & responsibilities
The Role as a Press Setter requires a steady hand of taking apart a section of a machine, then provide a new tool allowing the press machine to create a new part. For this potential experienced candidate, they must be able to work under their own initiative, excellent listening and communication skills are essential and a wide Understanding of health and safety.
Candidates are also required to hold a counterbalance FLT licence, enabling you to unload and load goods in and out of the warehouse. For this role candidates must have good spatial awareness, attention to detail, ability to work well with others, ability to operate/control equipment and a wide Understanding of health and safety.
Suitable candidates will have to demonstrate effective compliance with all Departmental Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.
Role Responsibilities:
- To ensure all quality requirements, procedures and directives are understood and implemented by yourself and your operators.
- To ensure operatives are correctly instructed in what is expected from them in terms of production and quality requirements and operational procedures and safety in conformance with Standard Operating Procedures.
- To maintain, through continued vigilance and observation, that all facilities are operating correctly and components produced conform to specification in all respects.
