Teacher of Art

The Grange School (with some teaching at Twynham School)

Start Date : September 2023

Reports to : Head of Art

Suitable for Early Career Teachers (ECTs)

About the Post

We are looking to appoint an exceptional and inspirational teacher of Art to join our highly successful cross-campus Art department. This is a very rare and exciting opportunity to join an already high-performing subject area and to support the vision for excellence being developed by our Head of Art.

This post would suit a colleague in the early stages of their career who is looking for a role that goes beyond the traditional teaching post. The Twynham School and TGS federation is now firmly established in Christchurch and there really is unlimited potential for our organisation to deliver a truly exceptional vision for young people across the town. The opportunity to be part of the team at the early stages of this development is unique and would offer unrivalled career development for an aspirational colleague.

The Grange School is thriving with both students and staff motivated by the “good” Ofsted judgement in December 2021 and momentum is building towards an exciting vision for the school. The school benefits from a wonderful mix of both experienced colleagues and several ECTs all of whom have been energised by our new, dynamic Head of School.

This is a truly exceptional opportunity for a talented and ambitious colleague.

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for an outstanding individual who will relish the opportunity to:

  • Teach Art across both Key Stage 3 and 4 to motivated and polite students
  • Deliver exceptional extra-curricular opportunities within and beyond Art
  • Further contribute to our vision for education across the town of Christchurch
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people in accordance with our Safeguarding and Child Protection policies.

You are likely to be someone who is or has the potential to be:

  • An inspirational and skilled teacher of Art
  • An acute understanding of pedagogy and is motivated by continuous improvement
  • Aspirational for career development and eager to seize additional career progression opportunities
  • Driven by the power of education to transform the lives of the most disadvantaged students

Twynham School and The Grange School can offer you:

  • The chance to be a part of an exciting educational journey
  • The opportunity to work with exceptional colleagues and young people and their families
  • An exceptional CPD offer from NQT and RQT through to senior and system leadership
  • Strong and supportive leadership, who place value on learning beyond the classroom
  • The opportunity to work within Twynham Learning; a progressive multi-academy trust
  • The opportunity to live in one of the most beautiful areas of the South Coast

You will also be keen to live our Twynham Learning employee values which are:

  • Aim high
  • Keep improving
  • Don’t leave anyone behind
  • See the bigger picture
