About The Team & Role


Gloucestershire Libraries are seeking a Senior Lab Tech, a brand-new role to support within the expanding Development Team.


This role will focus on the line management of six lab technicians located in six locations (Tewkesbury, Stroud, Gloucester, Cheltenham, Coleford and Chipping Campden). Key areas of focus for this role will be to support the libraries holistic offer to businesses and generate income through the model of labs through memberships, sponsorships, and workshops.


The Senior Lab Tech will be required to support with building and maintaining partnerships specifically within the business communities. Maintaining the technology used in the six lab spaces and lead on training and development for staff.

The post will also support the new Digital Immersive space opening in Oakley, Cheltenham in June 2023 overseeing the digital programming and development.


About You

The successful candidate should have excellent communications skills communicating with internal and external contacts. A track record of achievement through projects and income generation is also essential. Knowledge of new technology and digital equipment is desirable but would be key requirement to complete the role. Due to the nature of the role to maintain the six lab sites excellent organisation skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities is essential.
