An exciting opportunity to join a team of Birth Centre Coordinators.
We are looking for an experienced Midwives, who have recent and extensive practice on the Birth Centre and also experience of all areas of Midwifery would be beneficial.
The Birth Centre Coordinator is responsible for clinical leadership and management of the Birth Centre, ensuring the provision of high quality evidence based care.
The role requires 24 hour cover, offering advice and management to hospital and community teams out of normal working hours.
To work closely with the Birth Centre Ward Leader, in reviewing working practices and ensuring the Birth Centre is offering up to date modern maternity care.
There is also responsibility to support with governance processes and supporting education of staff.
The post holder is directly responsible to the Ward Leader for the continuing clinical management, organisation and leadership of Chesterfield Birth Centre, in their absence.
The post holder will facilitate the provision of high quality, evidence based care and promote and support the ethos of midwife led intrapartum care.
The post holder will carry a bleep and ensure the provision of senior advice and guidance to all areas of the maternity service, throughout the twenty four hour period.
The post holder will support the education and development of junior staff and students, and will be expected to lead on specific projects as required.
The post holder will contribute to the achievement of key performance indicators, targets and service developments relevant to area of responsibility.
