The Careers Advice Team is expanding and would like to recruit a new Careers Adviser.
This is an opportunity for a passionate and dedicated Careers Adviser to make a real difference to the young people in our academies as they look to access an ever more uncertain world of work. We have opportunities for candidates to work at sites in North and South London.
The salary stated will be adjusted pro rata based on working pattern (term time only). We will consider full-time and part-time contracts for this role.

The Harris Federation is a leading education charity with 52 Harris primary and secondary academies across London and Essex. The founder, Chairman and sponsor of the Harris Federation, Lord Harris of Peckham, opened our first school in 1990. Our central team comprises of a dedicated, driven group of departments working centrally to provide support across the Federation and all of our academies. Across a multitude of key departments, we maintain an outstanding body of staff all integral to supporting central and academy finance, HR, Data, Estates management, Talent and many more.
Main Areas of Responsibility
You will provide Careers Advice and Guidance to students. Team meetings and events often take place at our head office in Croydon but on a daily basis, you will be based in your link academies. The role will involve working closely with the Federation Careers Consultant and the Careers Team to design, plan and deliver an informed offer for students. This will include careers interview, structured curriculum projects, off-site careers-related activities and a centrally planned programme of events.
Qualifications & Experience
The successful candidate will have:
- Diploma in Careers Guidance or Qualification in Careers Guidance to Level 6 or prepared to work towards Level 6 providing you are currently Level 4 qualified.
- Experience of developing and delivering CEIAG within an education setting
- Experience of successfully motivating students to plan and achieve their career goals
- Good communication skills, with the ability to develop strong working relationships with a wide range of people
