Women and Girls Officer / Post 16 Coach
Purpose of the role: Purpose: To oversee the delivery of the new ‘GO AHEAD’ project within 20 schools, with a key role of managing staff and creating strong links with partner schools, whilst directing and organising a community social action programme for the participants to be involved with. The postholder will also deliver practical football sessions in line with the Female Academy technical programme to girls aged 16-18 who are enrolled on a full-time education and football programme linking both the programmes to enhance participation within secondary and post 16 education.
In addition to candidates’ ability to perform the duties of the post, the interview will also explore issues relating to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children including:
· Motivation to work with children and young people
· Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children and young people.
About the Organisation
The Leeds United Foundation is a non-profit, sports charity that exists to deliver targeted, high-quality programmes that have a real and measurable positive impact on the relationship between the club, its fans and the community.
About the programme The Go – Ahead programme is a practical football activity programme delivered for one hour per week to 20 identified schools throughout a full School year (39 weeks), the aim of the programme is to encourage more females to become empowered and more confident in participating in sport through football. The programme will support teachers that are engaged throughout the 39 weeks. The candidate will support delivery staff to work with school staff to upskill teachers in delivery, skills improvement, knowledge, and confidence ensuring that the programme is sustainable. The programme will also run a community social action programme which sees the participants engaging with local grassroots football clubs, whilst also gaining employment opportunities through coaching and refereeing. The Female Academy programme is a full-time football and education programme in partnership with Leeds City College for girls aged 16 - 18, the postholder will support in delivery and management of the programme helping recruit and support the participants from a delivery and management aspect.
Main areas of responsibility: · Welfare of participants within the programme.
· To work with schools to develop strong partnerships to ensure the programme is sustainable.
· Plan and communicate with delivery staff to organise delivery on the programme.
· Have a confident approach to communicating with external partners.
· Ensure engagement numbers are high and sustained throughout the school year.
· Ensure the programme is providing high quality coaching and support.
· Ensure that administrative duties and KPI information are completed and collected such as risk assessments / registers / participant information before and after every session in-line with programme requirements / health and safety / child protection.
· Attend meetings with the Senior Women & Girls Officer.
· To adopt principles of continuous personal and professional development with regards to the role.
· To build and maintain good working relationships both internally and externally, always maintaining a professional image when representing The Leeds United Foundation.
· To keep confidential any information gained regarding the Charity, Club, and its personnel.
· Maintain a flexible approach to work.
· To maintain the upkeep of all relevant equipment pertaining to the delivery of programmes and to the safety of participants.
· To undertake all other such relevant duties directed by the Senior Management team, which from time to time may be required with respect to the promotion of The Leeds United Foundation.
· To keep confidential any information gained regarding the Charity, Club, and its personnel.

Person specification:
Essential
· Experience in project delivery and organisation
· UEFA C
· A recognised FA First Aid Qualification
· Knowledge and understanding of child protection issues including holding a current FA Safeguarding Children Workshop certificate
· An accepted FA Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Disclosure (previously known as an FA CRB Disclosure)
· Experience in girls’ football
· Have knowledge and understanding of child development and be sensitive to children’s needs
· Willingness to work weekends and training events when required
· Own transport essential
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to work both independently, using your own initiative, and as part of a team.
- Excellent knowledge of safeguarding and safeguarding practices.
· Knowledge and understanding of working with young people
To have a willingness to use online technologies to support the sharing of advice and guidance online to players. To include: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Google Drive.

Health and Safety:
- Ensure that all health and safety procedures are in place for activities and that risk assessments are completed for specific programmes.
- Ensure that staff on the women and girls programmes are fully supported in understanding the health and safety requirements of the women and girls programmes.
- Ensure that appropriate insurance is in place for all type of programmes.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Commission programme evaluation reports as appropriate
- Make use of questionnaires and impact tools
- Use of VIEWS online monitoring and evaluation system
