The Halls, Wolverhampton, AEG Presents newest venue, is seeking a Live Music Booker.
The Live Music Booker is a key member of the venue team. You will be instrumental to the music programme across both venues within The Halls. To be successful in the role, you must identify opportunities for the venue to increase the number of music shows it hosts each year through a combination of own promoted shows, music genre nights and encouraging agents and promoters to work with The Halls, Wolverhampton.
This means that there must be successful development and maintaining successful relationships with all key clients with a focus on leading UK promoters and booking agents. To support this, the role will represent the venue at music shows in other venues and at industry events.
In this role you’ll evaluate the Midlands venue market and identify opportunities to curate new music / genre specific nights suitable for The Halls.
Alongside the General Manager, you will have responsibility for delivering or exceeding the number of music shows budgeted for The Halls, ensuring that the delivery is also reflected in the profitability of the events.
You’ll work alongside the AEG Presents Touring team to fully realise any opportunities for new shows and / or longer-term projects with upcoming artists; understand the venue cost base to present ideas for approval to enhance the venue reputation and ultimately deliver a profit and work with the General Manager to effectively manage the venue’s diary.
You will also budget for all show activity and liaise with finance team to ensure budget sign offs and show settlements are completed.
We’re looking for someone with a keen and engaged interest in the live music industry at a professional and personal level. You’ll have proven experience in curating / booking music content at other venues and be able to demonstrate good relationships with industry promoters, agents and management.
You’ll be commercially astute with an understanding of budgets; and have high resilience in dealing with promoters, agents and managers ensuring the right result for the business whilst maintaining a positive relationship with the client.
A great communicator, you’ll be able to build good working relationships with both colleagues and external clients.
