The role will be primarily working dayshift, 40 hours per week. The role holder will be required to develop full knowledge of the site and its processes and will move to cover specific areas over time.
This is a challenging production site, with a wide range of plant and equipment that includes driers, dressers, elevators & conveyors as well as Programmable Logic Controlled germinating vessels and kilns. In line with continued investment and our increasing focus on continuous improvement activity, we are also developing our site management team.

You will ensure a quality product, motivate and maintain the health and safety of the operators in your area and actively seek to improve processes, equipment and performance against a range of metrics in your area.
While initially dayshift based, there will be a requirement to undertake early and late shifts as part of a rota, take out of hours calls and there is a weekend rota (1 weekend in 6, on site), flexible with the rest of the team to ensure site staff can gain advice and quality judgements be made.
Typical but flexible working hours:-
6.00am-3.00pm + on call Friday then weekend work
2.00pm-10.00pm (on call Monday – Thursday)
4 weeks at 8.00am to 5.00pm

This role will be very much about showing that you are willing to take ownership and drive forward, taking your team with you to achieve improved performance. Any knowledge around lean manufacturing tools would also be useful combined with relevant experience.
Communication skills will be important for the successful candidate along with a continuous improvement mentality. You should be described by colleagues as a problem solver, dedicated, a good team member, focused and helpful.
