On behalf of Rolls Royce, AMS are looking for over 20 CNC Machinists to cover initial 12 month contracts based at their Derby site.
We are recruiting a number of CNC Machinists for the Precision Machining Facility and the Rotatives Facility in Derby.
The CNC Machinist will be working on either:
12 hour shifts, days and nights on a 24/6 schedule (this schedule means you would work 12 shifts for every 16 off and includes 8 consecutive days off), from Monday to Sunday.
or
a 3-shift (mornings / afternoons / nights) pattern between Monday and Friday.
As a CNC Machinist you will be responsible for:
- Working to Rolls-Royce Technical Instructions to deliver consistent, high quality machining and inspection across a variety of different components and product families
- Operating in accordance with safety requirements and within established procedures
- Reporting directly to Cell Production Leaders for the facility
- Programming, setting, and operating CNC machining centres
- Working to exact tolerances
- Playing an active role in continuous improvement within your cell, developing existing processes and implementing process improvements
What we require from the candidate:
- It is essential that candidates possess a recognised time-served apprenticeship within a Mechanical Engineering discipline, at either NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification
- Candidates must be able to demonstrate experience in using a variety of engineering equipment and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and apply instructions correctly to achieve required product quality
- Clear and demonstrated understanding of drawing interpretation, calibration, dimensional and visual inspection
- Experience in the operation of a variety of CNC machines including: 3 to 5-axis mills and lathes; 5-axis CNC Grinders or; EDM is advantageous
- Your CNC experience will include precision machining, preferably to aerospace standards
