Job Description
Atlantic Biogas Ltd operate several renewable energy process plants and are looking for new Anaerobic Digestion Plant Operator(s), the new post will ideally bring a mix of hands on plant operator and craftsman capability to help provide new night working requirements and allow the transfer of existing operators into craftsman roles.
Plant Operator Key Duties, include:
1. Operate the plant and support the Operational Manager in delivering the operational objectives helping to provide him/her with plant status awareness and care in coordinating actions on the ground.
2. Operational diary and operational administration that is co-compatible with the post.
3. Taking samples of feedstock for quality control testing, measurement of feedstock received and other seasonal activities
4. Undertaking plant equipment checks and daily operational update meetings
5. First line maintenance of plant an equipment (including pumps, mixers, valves, motors, gearboxes) as well as occasional roles in some planned and unplanned maintenance work
6. Taking samples for basic analysis onsite or analysis offsite by others
7. Plant operational record keeping and contribution to the preparation of site performance and data reports;
The Postholder shall preferably be experienced and qualified as follows:
A relevant trade training having completed an apprenticeship in a demanding engineering trade or science discipline
3 years experience in a process, utility or other mechanical-electrical systems environment including both a hands on and a desk based role in plant operations, commissioning or similar
Experience applying modern operational H&S practice, PC based working and communications
Shall be physically fit to undertake lone working, have the right to reside in the UK and have a current licence to drive in the UK
Details and Benefits
The role can be undertaken from anywhere reasonably placed for day to day access to the operational site and the Postholder shall work a base 36 hours per week.
