Our Company and The Role
Mechon is a consultancy firm that provides specialist designs for industries that include pharmaceutical, medical, defence, automotive and education. Our field of expertise includes the design of process HVAC, LEV, pollution control and renewable energy systems.
Mechon is looking for a CFD engineer to facilitate our ventilation systems designs.
You will need to plan and execute simulation projects using computational fluid dynamics (CFD). The simulations will consider modelling of multiphase flows (VOF, LMP, DEM and EMP). The simulations will tend to consider the impact of airborne vapours or particulate within a moving air environment.
In order to fulfil this function, you would need to apply your knowledge of fluid mechanics, heat transfer, thermodynamics and filtration. Mechon will be willing to support with training related to specific elements of any project.
Key Responsibilities
· Aspects of 2D drawing and 3D modelling.
· CFD modelling using ANSYS Fluent (or similar).
· Producing specifications and CFD reports on completion of projects.
Ideal Experience
· A degree qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering will put you at an advantage.
· At least five years plus experience in this specific field.
Ideal Qualifications and Skills
· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar). Cross-over degrees such as Chemical Engineering are acceptable.

Job Type: Freelance
Salary: £25.00-£42.00 per hour
