Reports to: Warehouse Supervisor
Depot: LWC Hereford
Main Duties
Reporting directly to the Warehouse Supervisor, Warehouse & Distribution Manager and Depot Manager, the purpose of the Warehouse Operative will be to complete tasks which assist the day to day running of the Warehouse, the up keep of the warehouse, the organisation of bin bay locations and to ensure correct storage of all products. The role is quite physical and manual handling is one of the main requirements.
Key Skills
- Adhering to good practice within the warehouse;
- Responsible for correctly picking orders and placing in the correct location for deliveries;
- Always being aware of possible stock shortages and informing the warehouse Supervisors or the managers so that they can be ordered;
- Ensure that all new stock delivered must be put away ASAP; all stock must be put away in the correct bin-bay location and match the delivery note received;
- Assist in the monthly stock takes at weekends;
- Assist with stock audits on a weekly basis;
- Filling out the correct information on the out of date list, damaged stock list (write off sheet), and fork lift and pedestrian truck records;
- Ensure that you follow the correct health and safety procedures;
- Wear the correct equipment for your job when on site, for example, safety boots, gloves, the correct high visibility vest;
- Being able to prioritise workloads;
- Flexible approach to working;
- Assisting the driver in preparing the vehicle by conducting operator maintenance, ensuring all products for a delivery are correct and that they have been loaded onto the vehicle correctly and safely.
- Check all deliveries once they have been dropped at the final designation
- Maintain customer confidence by keeping information strictly confidential regarding premise security and operational information.
- Execute any special requests from customers by picking up and delivering items as directed on the delivery note
- Assisting the driver in checking the run sheets, picked orders for your deliveries and routing.
- To assist in planning your route and requirements for the drop by studying the schedule and any requests by the customer that are on the delivery note
- Make customers aware of any stock shortages or problems with their delivery.
- Responsible for returning all empty cases and gas bottles and that they are correctly stored in the empties yard and unloaded in the correct manner.
- Ensure that correct health and safety procedures are adhered to
- To assist the driver with all required checks and ensure that check sheets are passed to the distribution manager.
- The ability to help in the warehouse when required.
- To look presentable in the correct LWC Drinks uniform at all times
Knowledge and Experience:
- Good team work skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Good safety practices and presentable at all times
- Good product knowledge.
- Flexi FLT licence is an advantage.
- Excellent Customer Service Skills
