Location: Weybridge
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 PA
Duration: Permanent
Hours: 9am-5:30pm Monday – Friday
Summary of an Operations Manager
Our clients are looking for an Operations Manager who is experienced in the Event Production / AV equipment rental industry. The role will take responsibility for the efficient and profitable operation of all aspects of the internal operation. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring that all internal aspects of the day-to-day operations of the business run smoothly.
Key Responsibilities of an Operations Manager
- Responsible for ensuring that effective methods are put into place so that the company, its resources and staff, operate to its maximum productivity.
- To be hands-on and include close involvement with the physical operations of the business and working within the operations team being led.
- Involvement in the management of assets, the rental warehouse, transport, studio and storage departments of the business.
- To develop and evolve all operational policies and procedures, on a strategic level.
- The Operations Manager will have excellent communication skills with all levels of staff, and will be responsible for establishing best practice and defining the approach to standards and procedures.
Key Competencies of an Operations Manager
- Demonstrable experience of a similar operations role within an asset rental business within the live event / technical production industry.
- Good communications / interpersonal skills. Fluent speaker of English language.
- Track record and clear ability to lead and manage a team.
- Flexible and adaptable. Able to respond to short-notice changes in working hours and schedules.
- Demonstrable commercial and business experience.
- Outline knowledge of UK Employment law and legislation.
- Ability to multitask and prioritise a demanding workload.
- Strong diplomatic and negotiating skills. Tact, and the ability to handle and resolve sensitive HR / staff issues within operational teams. The ability to deal with staff at all levels.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety principles and legislation, preferably backed up by a recognised qualification.
- Demonstrably astute, numerate and articulate.
- Ability to operate at a strategic and practical level, as opposed to simply managing.
- Strong IT skills. Always ahead of and embracing new technologies.
- Energetic individual, highly motivated, with enquiring mind and passion for accuracy and excellence.
