RSK Response is a business unit within the RSK Group that specialises in the provision of 24/7 environmental incident response services to a variety of clients and sectors across the UK, specialising in electrical and power clients. Due to increased workload, RSK Response is looking for an Environmental Incident Technician to join our growing team in Uckfield, UK.
Primary Activity:
Environmental Incident/Spill response and recovery activities to a variety of sites and site settings across the South East.
Successful candidates will preferably have experience in responding to and managing the clean-up of environmental incidents and spills from environmental, power, domestic or industrial sectors, however broader environmental / geo-environmental / waste management background is welcomed.
Incident response training is provided and other skills training opportunities may also be available.
This is a full time role (40 hours per week) that will require frequent travel, occasional stays away from home and working on an ‘On-Call’ rota basis.
Responsibilities:
The types of activities that the successful candidate could expect to be involved with include:

Development and adherence to specific and point of work health & safety risk assessments

Rapid response to environmental incidents in a variety of urban and rural settings
-
Pro-active assessment of pollution risks to the environment
-
Application of a variety of in-situ techniques for containing and recovering oils or other contaminants of concern

Environmental monitoring and sampling activities
-
Self-confident liaison with client and co-contractors in determining a most appropriate technical response to environmental incidents

Liaison with technical and managerial support regarding all incidents
-
Effective report writing
-
Waste management and Duty of Care
-
Inspection and maintenance of oil storage areas

Decontamination/Deep Cleaning
-
Work ‘on-call’, out of hours, at weekends and holiday periods as required
