Job Description
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner to join our friendly and dedicated team.
St. Margaret's Pre-School is located in Doddinghurst village, Brentwood, Essex. The successful candidate will be passionate for providing a high-quality childcare and learning in a safe environment.
The successful candidate will work in partnership with the parents and colleagues to support the social, emotional, educational and welfare needs of our children in line with EYFS statutory framework and pre-school policies and procedures.
Roles and Responsibilities
- To provide a stimulating, educational and safe environment for children in which they can develop to their full potential
- Supervise children in their activities at all times
- Establish positive relationships with children and their parents/carers
- To provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for children in the setting
- To give support to staff in the setting
- To work as part of a team in order to provide an enabling environment in which all children can play, develop and learn
- To observe, present activities and to build and maintain strong partnerships, working with parents to enable children’s needs to be met
- To effectively deliver the EYFS, ensuring that the individual needs and interests of the children in the setting are met (in conjunction with other team members)
- To act as key person to small group of children and to keep records of your key children’s development and Learning Journeys and share with parents, carers and other key adults in the child’s life.
- To ensure good standards of health, hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times
- To undertake and lead on additional responsibilities such as SEND, Safeguarding etc.
- To prepare the environment at the start of each day and pack away when necessary
- To undertake training courses as required as part of continuous professional development.
Qualifications and Skills
Level 2 and above Early Years Education and Childcare qualifications or equivalent.
Sound understanding of child development and of children's needs including demonstrable and detailed knowledge of current legislation relevant to the Early Years and EYFS.

The setting is opened term time only. Successful candidate will have access to a fantastic support network from the leadership team.
