We are now looking for a Multi-Skilled Engineering Apprentice to join our Mill Service team in Scarborough.

What you’ll do
Learning automation, mechanical and electrical engineering skills in a fast-paced production environment. Over the apprenticeship you will develop the skills and knowledge required to work as an independent multiskilled technician.
Your main tasks are
  • Work at all times within UPM Safety & Environment rules
  • Develop the following skills and knowledge whilst working alongside other technicians:
    • Maintenance of technologically advanced machinery
    • Automation, including coding, programmable logic controllers, and electrical drives
    • Pneumatics
    • Hydraulics
    • Maintenance of Electrical and Mechanical systems and other site services
  • Learn to fault-find and resolve breakdowns
  • Learn and develop continuous improvement skills within a manufacturing environment
  • Completion of Apprenticeship Programme and other required training
Who you are
  • You have minimum of 5 GCSEs A-Cs/9-5 (Maths, English and Science)
  • You have knowledge of IT software
  • You have a keen interest in engineering
  • You are passionate about succeeding in the world of engineering
  • You can work independently, safely, and responsibly
  • You enjoy collaborating with others to find innovative solutions
  • You have a growth mindset: resilient, curious, and adaptable
  • You are a critical thinker and creative problem solver
