Job Description

YRH Finance Team are currently recruiting for an experienced Part-Time Financial Controller to join our team in Oxford, Oxfordshire.


Introduction

YRH Finance Team began in 2007 and we’ve been rapidly expanding ever since. We now have 100+ finance professionals and 130+ clients who we work with every week and month. Our purpose is to help SME business owners be more successful and feel happier, and we do this by professionalising their accounting function; enabling them to access, and implement, accounting best practice and work with the best finance people – streamlining their accounting process and preparing and explaining financial information that positively impacts profit and cashflow.

Rate of Pay: £30.00 per hour

Location: Oxford, Oxfordshire.


The Role

As a Part-time Financial Controller for YRH Finance Team, you will be providing SME clients with a tailored financial support service to help address barriers with their accounting process while preparing and explaining financial information that positively impacts profit and cashflow.


You will be


  • Qualified and experienced Financial Controller, who has previously managed a finance team
  • Proficient in bookkeeping, cashflow, forecasting and budgeting
  • Assessing and reporting on the client’s cash flow, including managing and reporting on debtors and creditors where appropriate
  • Providing the client with timely and easily understood, forward looking financial information, which gives them the clarity about the performance of their business and helps them make business decisions
  • Providing robust analysis of the performance of the client’s business and make suggestions for improving profitability and cashflow
  • Providing performance forecasts that are accurate and reasonable, adopting forecasting assumptions that ensure accuracy and reasonableness confident decision making
  • Implementing financial controls and processes that are robust and relevant to the size and type of the client’s business and manage the quality, efficiency, and delivery of the bookkeeper where applicable
  • Always support the efforts of the Business Owner or Finance Director
  • You have good written, oral English language skills and can communicate clearly and effectively


Experience, Knowledge and qualifications

  • Fully qualified Financial Controller (ACCA/CIMA/ACMA/FCCA/ICAEW) or QBE (5+ years) with experience of managing a finance team
  • Expert knowledge of Sage50, Xero and QuickBooks
  • You are a proficient Excel user (specifically in: pivot tables, modelling, sumif and vlookup formulas)
  • You are experienced in bank account management, reconciliation and presenting to Company Directors and Finance Director
  • You have at least 3 days a week available to work with us and can happily travel to surrounding areas from home
  • Technical understanding of various industries and sectors
  • Functional organisation and management of the team and deliverables
  • Able to clearly express numbers in a commercial way
  • Experience and understanding of setting up/enhancing a finance function, including developing relevant finance controls and processes
  • Experience of being able to build relationships across all levels
  • You are confident, resourceful, take pride in your contribution, able to work to deadlines and well organised
