This brand new role will lead our corporate defence against cybersecurity incidents, as well as identifying, analyzing, communicating and containing these incidents when they do occur. Reporting to the Head of Cyber & Information Security, you’ll use your experience and industry knowledge to make quick, effective decisions in high-impact situations as well as being able to drive preventative measures. IT Security Officer Responsibilities:*
*
Conducting network monitoring and intrusion detection analysis using various Computer Network Defense (CND) tools, such as Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), firewalls, Host-Based Security System (HBSS), etc.
- Correlating network activity across networks to identify trends of unauthorized use
- Reviewing alerts and data from sensors and documenting formal, technical incident reports
- Researching emerging threats and vulnerabilities to aid in the identification of network incidents
- Providing network subscribers with incident response support, including mitigating actions to contain activity and facilitating forensic analysis when necessary
- Testing new computers, software, switch hardware and routers before implementation to ensure Security
- Supporting the creation of business continuity/disaster recovery plans, to include conducting disaster recovery tests, publishing test results and making changes necessary to address deficiencies

IT Security Officer Requirements:*
*
BSc or MA in Computer Science, Information Security or related field or equivalent work experience
- Ideally Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and/or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
- Extensive experience in information security, especially on a Computer Incident Response Team (CIRT), Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT), Computer Security Incident Response Center (CSIRC) or a Security Operations Center (SOC)
- Experience with regulatory compliance and information security management frameworks (e.g., IS027000, COBIT, NIST 800, etc.)
- Technical expertise in anti-virus solutions, virus outbreak management and the ability to differentiate virus activity from directed attack patterns
- Technical expertise in Intrusion Prevention System (IPS)/Intrusion Detection System (IDS), SIEMs and other Computer Network Defense (CND) security tools
