Job Description
About Us
Hamlet's Bakery is an artisan micro-bakery and corporate catering company specialising in innovative Jewish, Cornish and European Bakes. We are opening our first flagship store in Parson's Green and are looking for vibrant Baristas to be the face of our business.
Unlike most other businesses, we see our staff as our biggest asset. We understand the importance of keeping staff happy so they stay with us happily for a long time, building those relationships with the customers. It's important for our staff to communicate with the owner if things aren't working or if something can be improved, and it'll be actioned immediately if it benefits the staff and/or business.
We also appreciate that very few people can survive off National Minimum Wage, so will be paying a little more than this, with regular pay reviews and increases depending on performance.
The Role
Although we're a bakery, the owner started his career as a barista and worked as head of coffee for many companies, meaning the coffee is just as important to us as the bakes and food. With this in mind, for the full-time position we're looking for someone with proven experience and correct knowledge in coffee, roasting, techniques to engage in conversation with customers.
For the part time positions, experience in independent coffee shops is required, although full training will be given to get you up to our brand standard.
There will also be some food prep in the mornings, such as sandwiches, salads, yoghurt pots and overnight oats.
There will be some lone-working at times (in both positions) so we need people who can work off their own initiative and is self-motivated.
We want people of different cultures, backgrounds, nationalities, sexuality and gender identities to bring your lived experiences to the brand and customers.
So, if you're talkative, intelligent and can handle a little workplace banter, send us your cv!
