Where you’ll work: You will become part of the committed team at The Cedars care home in the heart of Holmes Chapel village where we have the capacity to support up to 27 residents, supporting to fulfil their retirements years in a simulating and homely environment. As Activity Coordinator you will be offering person centred, daily meaningful activities.

What you’ll be doing: As an Activities Coordinator, you will organise a varied programme of social, cultural and recreational activities, tailored to meet individual needs, promoting independence, and making each day of residents’ lives as fulfilling as possible.
· Respecting resident’s rights of choice, privacy and dignity.
· Supporting residents to remain as active as possible who have limited mobility or physical difficulties.
·You will work closely with the Home Manager to plan and implement activities appropriate to the residents needs and requests.
· You will need to maintain an full and accurate record of daily activities.
· Engage with staff, families and volunteers within the home and local community in order to enhance the care and support of residents.
· Organise fundraising events along with the management and staff team.
Examples of activities that would be beneficial: Music and movement to encourage movement of feet and hands; games and quizzes; ball games, such as skittles; sewing groups; painting groups; reminiscence therapy including old newspapers and discussing life experiences; gardening and external activities in the surrounding community.
