NetWitness Sr Director, Product Management
Manages people who are responsible for cross-functional management of specific product(s) or solution(s) through their entire life-cycle to achieve P&L goals. Uses technical and industry experience to formulate product/ solution strategies. Works across functional areas to implement product/ solution strategies. Analyzes markets to determine opportunities. Ensures offerings are defined to maximize profitability. Evaluates and adjusts product strategies to respond to competition. Works with product development leaders in engineering/ R&D teams to ensure customer needs and requirements are represented. Develops and maintains the product roadmap. Subject Matter Expertise(SME) for internal and external product events, including analyst meetings, press interviews, sales training and partner meetings.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Directs the efforts of others in the achievement of the strategic and operational objectives of the group.
- Manages the hiring, staffing and maintaining of a diverse and effective workforce.
- Responsible for career development/planning, performance and pay discussions of team members.
- Leverages technical skills in driving the team toward the appropriate design of the customer technology solution.
- Organizes intra- and inter-organizational activities ensuring completion of the product/program/project on schedule and within budget constraints.
- Leads the communication with all appropriate extended teams and ensures they are informed and in agreement with all activities needed for the product/program/project/solution to succeed.
- Participates in discussions around offer evolution and development.
- Responsible for the leadership and management of project execution.
- Leads process improvement initiatives in addition to managing day to day project execution.
- Stays informed and knowledgeable of current and future technology/engineering trends within area of responsibility.
- Analyzes and addresses gaps in go-to-market technical collateral.
- Works extensively with Product Marketing to build product/ solutions marketing plans and drive them through the organization.
- Collaborates with other Product Managers, BU Leaders and Engineering/ R&D leaders to align product strategies into comprehensive portfolios for the BU
Principal Responsibilities:
- Participates with other senior leaders to establish strategic plans and objectives
- Leads team of managers who may have subordinate supervisors
- May participate in development of functional strategy
- Develops and maintains direct customer relationships and key internal constituents
- Responsible for leading and developing managers who directly manage the project management/product development team
- Works directly with senior marketing leaders to identify relevant solutions that address customer requirements
- Partners with marketing to create product
- Roadmaps
Skills:
- Advanced technology/engineering skills relating to design, test and quality
- Strong understanding of business goals and objectives as they relate to customer use cases and solutions
- Ability to work effectively with leadership
- Leadership Skills
Education & Experience:
- Typically, 10+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Typically requires 5+ years diversified leadership, planning, communication, organization and people motivation skill (or equivalent experience)
