Ibk is a community based, not-for-profit social enterprise with over 20 years’ experience of providing Direct Payment Support to families, children and adults of all ages with a range of needs. We provide a bespoke matching service, finding the right PA for the right person!
IBK is currently working with a lovely family who are seeking to recruit a committed and enthusiastic PA to join their team in providing support to a bright and bubbly 12 year old girl. This young person loves all things Marvel, playing pranks and spending time with her family. She has complex health needs including a tracheostomy and uncontrolled epilepsy which means she needs someone with her at all times to keep safe. She has a brother and sister who also have complex health and learning needs so the PA needs to be comfortable with a busy household!
The focus of the role will eventually be to provide overnight support to the young person to ensure her needs are attended to overnight. You will be in the same room as the young person as she sleeps and are welcome to access the wifi or read a book as long as you remain vigilant. You will also provide some daytime support to this young person to access school or learn from home.
Although previous health care experience would be useful, this wonderful family are happy to invest in the right person and full training is available by a nursing team. Just as important as experienced is the right person who will commit to the role and treat the children as equals

Hours:
Initially you would work during the daytime in order to get to know the young person, build up a relationship and go through initial training and induction. Eventually you will move over to more regular nights.
The family can offer some flexibility but are ideally looking for:
Initially 2 day times and one waking night where you can train with an experience carer o family member
Moving to 3 nights (11pm-8am) plus one 4 hour day
