Anna* is a friendly, clever, inquisitive 9 yr old girl who has cerebral palsy and lives in the Rochdale area with her mum, dad, and siblings.
During her time away from school she enjoys going out in community and taking part in outdoor activities. *Anna loves to access hydrotherapy and is looking for a support worker who can join in the fun.
Anna* requires 1:1 support in the evenings, weekends and school holidays. She has a visual impairment and communication difficulties. She communicates by gestures and hand pointing and her communication device. You will be working closely with therapists to carry out therapy care plans, assisting Anna* with suctioning her airways when needed, and provide oral hygiene care and medication via a PEG. All training is given for this role
In this role your responsibilities include:
· Enjoying a range of fun, interactive activities in the home, and out and about in the community
· You’ll be assisting with personal care and feeding
· You’ll be working with the family and case manager providing support, care and therapy.
· Work with therapists to carry out their programmes
Person Specification
The family are looking for a support worker who is bubbly, enjoys the great outdoors, who can engage with therapists. You must be flexible, committed to the role and looking for a long term position. Preferably the support worker can speak Urdu, but not essential.
Hours: Average 20hrs per week (days and weekends)
Term Time
Monday – Friday before school - 07.30am–09.00am
Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday - 4.00pm – 7.00pm
Weekends - 2.00pm – 6.00pm
School Holidays
10am-6pm - Flexible days
Salary
£14 per hour weekdays
£16 per hour weekends
- Driver with a clean driving license and own car essential
- A clean enhanced DBS is required for this position
- Full bespoke training given
