Respite Worker (Children and Young People), Swindon, Full or Part Time, £12.50 - £18ph + Mileage
We are currently looking to recruit Respite Workers to provide care to Children and Young People in Swindon.
You will be expected to support Children and Young People in their own homes or out in the community as laid out in their care plan. Some aspects of your day may include provide support to children and young people with various Neurological and Developmental Disorders, including medication management, personal care and support with moving and handling.
You will be expected to work in a way that helps promote the individual’s independence, and will follow a specific care plan for each individual which will demonstrate the needs of the individual and how they want to live their lives.

An agency care worker is expected to:
- Be punctual and presentable at all times
- Maintain the utmost confidentiality about individuals
- Keep a log of all tasks completed as per the companies policy
- Report any accident or incident occurring during a period of support immediately
- Adhering to all policies, procedures and practices put in place by the support service and associated bodies.
As an agency, we cater to the needs of our clients, and whilst we endeavour to source you work close to home, it may be necessary for you to travel outside of your immediate area to secure the volume of shifts you require.
Duties whilst on shift:
- To assist with the general support as required. Such support may include food preparation, personal dressing, personal hygiene, medication management.
- To offer support in a sensitive manner, taking account of the abilities and health and emotional needs of the individuals
- To maintain written records as necessary
- To assist people in a manner that promotes their independence and acquisition of skills
- To participate in appropriate training
- To administer and supervise medication as appropriate
