Job Description
Working hours are Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm.
As a Laboratory Technician you will be receiving, preparing and analysing samples for analytical testing.

Responsible for reception (and extraction) of DNA / RNA samples.

Perform the entry quality control checks of incoming (and extracted) samples

Responsible for supervising and operating semi-automated and automated lab processes.

Work with the Laboratory Manager to achieve daily targets, ensuring client turnaround time is met and seeking advice as required.

Perform regular laboratory housekeeping duties and consumables replenishment.

Work with the team on continuous improvement initiatives.

Report any anomalies or concerns direct to the Laboratory Manager.

Ensure customer contact is conducted in a professional manner and any queries are dealt with or notified to your line leader.

Uphold and maintain customer and company confidentiality.

Comply with Health and Safety procedures keeping the working environment clean and tidy.
Qualifications
-
Experience within a laboratory would be beneficial.

Educated to degree level in a relevant scientific field.

Knowledge of molecular biology and first hands on molecular biological experience will be an advantage

Keen to operate robots and modern lab equipment.

Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
-
Flexible and a willingness to learn.

Enjoys working part of a team.
