Job Description

About The Role

Are you a Specialist Clinical Pharmacist with recent hospital experience looking for a new opportunity? Or maybe you’re someone who has limited experience but wants an opportunity to advance in your clinical pharmacy career. If this is you, then read on.

As our Specialist Clinical Pharmacist you will play a key role within the pharmacy team delivering services across a variety of elective specialities such as Orthopaedics, ENT, Urology, Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, and Endoscopy. Working 22.5 hours per week with occasional Saturdays 08:00 to 16:00, you will assist in the provision and development of leading clinical pharmacy services for outpatients departments, recovery, inpatient ward/s and operating theatres across 2 sites; Ilford Hospital and Gillingham Surgical Centre.

If you do have limited experience, we have a supportive learning plan and environment where our national pharmacy teams and our chief pharmacist will be available in supporting you to move into the organisation and advise you on our pathways and standards.

About You

To be considered for this role you should have the following qualification-

  • Registered with General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • Postgraduate Clinical Pharmacy Certificate or willing to enrol in a Postgraduate programme

At our Ilford Hospital and Gillingham Surgical Centre we create an exceptional experience for all our patients, with a dedication to delivering the highest standards of quality and safety. We work with the NHS to take healthcare services closer to where people live and work – increasing the efficiency and quality of the services we deliver and helping to reduce waiting times – but also provide fast, high-quality hospital treatment to patients who wish to self-fund or use private health insurance. Our services cover a wide range of treatments, including; General Surgery, Orthopaedics, ENT, Endoscopy, Ophthalmology and Gynaecology.

You will be part of a team providing safe, reliable and patient focused care for NHS and self-pay patients. The hospital is staffed by a valued team of highly skilled professionals. We have 6 Theatre suites on the Ilford site and 3 at our Gillingham site, as well as several treatment rooms. Our Ilford Hospital inpatients comfortably recover on our 21 bedded ward where the Pharmacy team is involved in supplying medication and clinical support to the Multi-Disciplinary Team.
