Job Description

Job Introduction

Surrey County Council is committed to the development of its workforce and as such this role is only available to applicants who already work for Surrey County Council. We thank you for your interest in Surrey County Council and would encourage you to review our current vacancies which are available to all.

Do you have a background in Programme management? Are you looking for a new challenge? Well look no further!

We are currently looking for a Senior Project Support Officer to join the fast-paced DB&I project. This is a secondment opportunity until the 31st August 2023.

Working in a dynamic and deadline driven environment, you will be part of a supportive and engaging team, who are experienced and focussed on delivering high quality work. You will be a central character in the team, making and maintaining key stakeholder relationships.

The DB&I Programme is a fast-paced controlled working environment which is responsible for the delivery of the Council’s new ERP solution (Migrating from SAP to UNIT4). Your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Working closely with the Programme Manager
  • Maintaining and monitoring risks and issues
  • Organising programme meetings, as well as creating the structure and taking minutes
  • Building and maintaining programme dashboards, showing progress against plan
  • Engaging with People and Change (HR), Recruitment, Procurement, and IT&D to help maintain programme pace.

This role is open to remote working meaning you aren't required in the office 5 days a week. We’re less about you driving to work and more about us collectively driving down our carbon footprint. We care about how you work rather than where you work; the people rather than the postcode. In support of our people and our greener futures strategies, we’d welcome a conversation with the successful candidate on what remote working may look like for you.

To be considered for interview, your personal statement will clearly show:

  • High level administrative/organisational and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage a range of projects through to completion
  • Effective interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills
  • Practical experience and understanding of business supporting service teams and/or
  • providing support to the public.

If you feel this describes you, please submit your application below! Please submit no more than an A4 outlining your suitability for the role.

At Surrey, our values and behaviours are just as important as our skills and abilities. They shape who we are as an organisation. Find out more about the values we follow.
