Team description:
AFG Finance is a small, fast paced operational finance team, dealing with everything from accounts payable and receivable right through to statutory accounts, you will be responsible for two of the companies within the group doing the monthly management accounts, external audit and statutory accounts. This is a 9 month fixed term contract based in the Reading office.
Description of role and key responsibilities:
The team is looking for someone diligent, motivated and reliable with relevant experience to join the team.
Your key responsibilities will involve:
1. Preparation of monthly management accounts and balance sheet recs
2. Maintaining the integrity of the ledgers
3. SPV cash reporting
4. Quarterly VAT returns and other ad-hoc reporting
5. Preparation of statutory accounts
6. Month end procedures
7. Other ad-hoc tasks as requested
Core skills and knowledge:
- Qualifications: Qualified by experience or CIMA / ACCA – part or newly qualified
- Market Knowledge: Awareness of the financial market landscape, competitors and market drivers.
- IT Skills: Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Investec Specific Knowledge: Knowledge of Investec procedures and compliance protocols.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills
- Good inter-personal and communication skills
- Experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced finance team
- Ability to work well under pressure
Any other attributes that would be helpful, but not essential for the role:
Experience using JD Essbase.
Awareness of asset finance and financial services.
