Where in the world of OVO will I be working? The SHE Advisor will work within our Energy Solutions Business and report to the business SHE Manager. The position is intended to support the SHE manager and enable our business to carry out its activities safely, as we grow. The SHE advisor will support our projects across our various management models throughout the pre-construction and construction phases, holding the skills and relevant experience to do so. We need your help to inspire and help our busy operational teams and Contractors execute their work consistently, using “best in class” health and safety practices with a focus of ensuring a safe project delivery for our members and Clients. What will I be doing? Key responsibilities include: Supporting the SHE Manager and the wider operational business to ensure all aspects of works are procured, managed and delivered in line with internal and external SHE requirements. Acting as an informed, objective and competent advisor for SHE management across all workstreams. Owning aspects of the annual SHE plan and delivering on these. Managing and executing site/project inspections and engagements ensuring remedial actions are agreed when required. Assisting, mentoring and coaching, colleagues, contractors and other stakeholders. Attending project and stakeholder meetings as required. Working with the wider team to onboard and grow our supply chain including the review of SHE documentation. Carrying out reviews of contractor SHE documentation like construction phase plans and RAMS. Developing in-house learning materials. Supporting and undertaking SHE event investigations. Supporting the creation of SHE and Technical bulletins. Participating in Toolbox Talks. Working with the business and others to develop and implement new initiates or sharing best practices to support safe and efficient working. Championing and actively encouraging safety observation and hazard reporting. Is this the job for me? The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, with a passion for health and safety and a desire to ensure there is an effective control framework in place for contractor risk management, as well asclear, concise, accurate reporting on risks and issues. The ideal candidate will have had experience in drivingimprovements in technical and safety risk frameworks, governance and reporting in a regulatedenvironment. Ideally you will: Have significant practical field experience in domestic energy efficiency refurbishment projects or construction, specifically Heating, Renewables and Insulation installation. Hold the NEBOSH General certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent. Hold a technical qualification e.g. electrical or gas qualification (Minimum of 3 years). Hold an internal auditing qualification e.g ISO 45001 Have an in-depth understanding of UK H&S legislation and its practical application in social housing refurbishment projects or similar (CDM, WAH, Asbestos and Gas etc) Be a member of IOSH, IIRSM or an equivalent professional body. Have experience in event management and investigation to root cause. Be able to form solid working relationships and know how to manage expectations. Have experience in developing and maintaining strong working relationships with stakeholders.
