Job Description

Community Education delivers free confidence-building workshops to young people, and we want you to help us in our mission to empower communities to become more resilient. We ask that you: Are available to help us for a minimum of 8 hours per month. Can commit to helping us for a minimum of 9 months. Driving is essential for this role. Please note as part of this role you will be expected to travel up to one hour to venues to deliver workshops. Workshops can take place at various times, usually between 9am and 5pm during the week. You will be required to carry learning materials or light-weight training equipment. If you have previous experience that’s great, but we will give full training and support if you are passionate about this and want to get involved. We ask that you can commit to this role and to working through the role induction. 70% of the learning will be done practically, along with some online learning modules, with a view to be independently delivering one of our workshops within 3 months of joining Community Education. We will provide you with all training resources, and we will support you by providing opportunities for observations, feedback, and training. We take an individual approach to ensuring your safety, and we will also have a conversation with you to discuss any adjustments you may need. Please contact [email protected] if you have any questions.
Why we want you: Can you help young people build essential life skills? Community Education delivers free confidence-building workshops across the UK, and we want you to help us enable and equip communities to become more resilient. You will empower young people in your community by delivering workshops on a range of humanitarian topics including First Aid and Wellbeing. This is a wonderful opportunity to represent the British Red Cross in your local community, whilst working with a supportive and inclusive team. We ask that you are available to help us deliver education workshops for a minimum of 8 hours per month and can commit to helping us for a minimum of 9 months. Our workshops take place at different times every week, so flexibility is desired.
