Job Description

Bristol Veterinary Specialists (formerly Highcroft Referrals) is recruiting an Oncology Intern to join our expanding oncology service. The position will be a one-year fixed-term contract.

The successful candidate will be joining 2-3 board-certified specialists in medical oncology, one in radiation oncology, two oncology residents as well as a supporting team of 3 oncology veterinary nurses, therapeutic radiographers and patient care assistants. We have a brand-new hospital with bespoke chemotherapy facilities including a state-of-the-art Elekta 6MV linear accelerator capable of state-of-the-art image-guided treatments.

Bristol Vet Specialists is an expanding multi-disciplinary referral hospital based in Avonmouth, near Bristol, with specialists in oncology, internal medicine, diagnostic imaging, anaesthesia, soft tissue surgery, orthopaedic surgery, neurology, dermatology, cardiology, dentistry and ophthalmology. We have a number of residency and internship programmes (internal medicine, anaesthesia, neurology and surgery residencies, rotating and discipline-specific internships) with outstanding pastoral care.

We are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic and highly motivated in veterinary oncology, committed to practising the highest standards of veterinary medicine and patient care, and who would relish the opportunity to further their career towards a specialist training program.

In addition to the clinical commitment, our intern's training includes weekly attendance at journal club, book club, and other seminars on a variety of subjects. The successful candidate will be expected to present at these seminars.
