Graduate Engineer
The role
Fugro GB North Marine is seeking a Graduate Engineer to fill a role based in Aberdeen.
The engineering team provides a wide range of innovative engineering solutions in support of Fugro’s and our Client’s subsea operations. This ranges from the design of bespoke subsea equipment and ROV tooling to developing intervention methodologies and providing offshore operational support.
This role provides a structured approach to developing a wide range of engineering skills, working in a multi-disciplined team of design, project, and structural engineers. Through a variety of project and departmental assignments you will be given experience in engineering design and analysis, equipment development & testing, project delivery and offshore operations.
We are looking for enthusiastic, creative individuals who show a passion for learning and collaborating in a team environment to deliver successful projects.
Our team includes several Chartered Engineers, and you will be assigned a mentor that will work with you to shape your development and support you as you work towards your own professional registration. Your development will be supported by access to various internal and external training courses.
After two years as a Graduate Engineer, you will be given the opportunity to specialise in your preferred role within the engineering team, with a defined career path.

Who you’ll be working with:
You will report to the Engineering Manager while providing support to and working closely with the whole engineering team. You will also interact with and support the various Service Line project delivery and workshop teams.
Here’s what a typical day would be like:
Develop engineering deliverables within your current work or project assignment.
Support the design of bespoke ROV intervention tooling or project specific engineering solution, under the supervision of the assigned lead engineer in line with Company engineering procedures (3D CAD modelling, FEA, calculations).
Preparation of engineering documentation (procedures, manuals, reports).
Liaise with Workshop teams during the build & test of engineering designs, including preparation of test procedures.
Support planning and execution of offshore intervention projects.
Who we’re looking for:
You have BEng or MEng in Mechanical, Mechanical and Electrical, Mechatronics, Civil or Structural Engineering or related discipline.
You have excellent communication and collaboration skills (written and spoken).
You are enthusiastic about a career in engineering and demonstrate a passion for learning and development.
You are methodical and show an attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.
You contribute to team success by bringing your own perspective and ideas.
