An exciting opportunity has arisen for an accountant to join the investment and accounting team at Wiltshire Pension Fund in either full time or part time capacity.

About the Role
This role will have responsibility for ensuring that the Pension Fund’s accounting processes are running well, including reviewing controls and reconciliations, preparing the Fund’s statutory accounts, setting and monitoring the operational budget of approx. £3m, and reviewing practices to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
You will be designing and monitoring financial controls and reporting on their effectiveness and working independently with colleagues from across the fund to find suitable data and reports to ensure controls are effective. You will be proactively identifying any new control risks, designing and implementing new controls required to address issues and considering the effectiveness of the overall control framework for all pension fund activities.
You will be forecasting cashflow needs for the fund ensuring that all elements of the treasury strategy are complied with and cash is available to meet obligations as they fall due. This is a critical function as cash is required to meet the monthly payroll and contractual obligations for large private market capital calls.
About You
You will hold a professional accountancy qualification from a recognised industry body (CIPFA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc), and have post-qualification experience in a public sector accounting role, enabling you to oversee the production of statutory accounts and deliver process improvements.
You will enjoy working in a proactive and solutions-based way and will promote the Fund’s value of smarter working across the whole Fund. You will be enthusiastic to drive change and promote effective and efficient working practices.
You will have an excellent ability to analyse and present clearly financial information, and to set timetables and priorities and organise work in order to achieve set goals in a specified timescale.
You will possess excellent communication skills, and will enjoy working as part of a small, dynamic team.
