We are looking to recruit a General Manager for The Temperance Inn, Ambleside.The existing GM has leapt at the internal opportunity to lead the team of an exciting reopening project at one of our other inns, leaving us with a fantastic opportunity for someone new to join our team…
As General Manager the successful candidate will be someone who's passions, beliefs and drive mirror that of our company. In your role you will treat your site as if it was your business; developing people and driving sales & profit in equal measures. You will be able to forward plan, think outside the box to find new and exciting sales opportunities while maintaining firm controls of all KPI's and cost centres. Reporting to your Operations Manager, you will form part of a successful management team who, together with your peers, will create a region that delivers the mission statement of the Inn Collection Group as it partners with local communities across the Lake District..
As an Inn Collection General Manager you will be an ambassador for the guest journey and ensure ICG values and service behaviours are delivered consistently and expertly in a professional and friendly environment.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Exceptional guest care delivered both personally and through your team
- Direct line responsibility for the senior team of assistant managers, head chef and head housekeeper
- Commercial performance of the business.
- Planning, budgeting and cost control in line with agreed budgets
- Establish, train, and nurture the team to deliver against our ICG values.
- Guest satisfaction levels
Key Skills and Experience
- Be highly motivated with a focus on customer service.
- Have a strong food background and hospitality will be at the forefront of their demeanour.
- Create, review, and implement business procedures.
- Manage financial budgets.
- Continuous Self Development
- Hold a valid Personal License.
- Understand P&L accounts including labour planning.
- Take care of company expenditure and bills.
- Be able to lead, hire, train, assess, manage, and motivate staff.
