The purpose of the post is to carry out acceptance and in-service checks on a range of medical devices, predominately medical weighing scales but including other medical gas devices, medical electrical equipment and pressure relieving equipment.
The post holder will be expected to record the results of all checks on an electronic equipment management system.
The work involves travel between all NBT sites and to other locations where equipment maintained by Clinical Equipment Services is based.
This post will involve work in more than one of the specialist sections of the department and there may be the requirement to participate in a 7 day working rota.

To carry out calibration, functional and safety checks on a range of medical devices and to carry out simple repair procedures where appropriate.
Carry out all work in accordance with the departmental Quality Management System.
To advise equipment users on the fitness for use or otherwise of medical devices tested.
To carry out acceptance checks on new medical equipment.
To keep accurate records of all work carried out and of training received.
To implement relevant Trust policies within the department.
To attend relevant training courses as agreed as part of the induction and appraisal processes.
Build and maintain an awareness of standards and developments pertaining to the devices that are worked on.
Report adverse incidents to the relevant bodies.
To perform any other duties as may reasonably be assigned.
Clinical Equipment Services sits within the Core Clinical Services Division and provide a variety of services to North Bristol NHS Trust which include a comprehensive Medical Equipment Technical Support Service, a Medical Equipment Library and the Bed and Mattress Service.
There are five main services; Anesthetic and Medical Gases, Electronics, Mechanical, Beds and Mattresses and CES Support.
