Job Description
To provide support for the maternity team and assist with giving safe and effective care for women during pregnancy, labour and care whilst on the postnatal ward, under the supervision of a registered midwife or nurse.
The Maternity Care Assistant (MCA) will receive training and conduct a variety of activities of care / standards. These will be assessed against the National Care Certificate programme, lasting approximately 6 months. Once you have completed the programme, you will be expected to use this in your practice.
Full and part-time opportunities have arisen in the Maternity Unit within University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust, at Worthing and for Maternity Care Assistants.

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individuals who have an interest in all aspects of maternity care and able to work week days, weekends and bank holidays, both day and night duty. Providing very high level of service to our users of maternity service and their families.

Maternity assistants are a vital part of our maternity team and can be found delivering care across all our maternity wards and departments. To ensure that all patients at the Trust receive highly skilled, compassionate and safe person-centred care from our maternity assistants we must ensure that you are properly trained, supervised, and assessed as competent for your role.
