Job Description
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered Biomedical Scientist to join our friendly and dedicated Blood Science Team at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.
The Blood Science laboratory offers the opportunity to work in a well-equipped environment with a high level of (pre-analytical and analytical) automation.
You will be expected to rotate through the laboratory sections – Clinical Biochemistry, Haematology and Blood Transfusion, and appropriate training will be given.
The laboratory is covered for 24 hours every day and you would be expected to participate in the shifts and contribute to the continuity and quality of care for patients in the Trust hospitals. You will be expected to travel across our six hospital sites when required.
We are committed to your personal and professional development and you will have opportunities to fulfil your potential with NWLP. You must have a desire to learn and develop within our busy laboratories. The laboratory has IBMS training approval for training for Specialist Portfolios in Blood Sciences.
Applicants should have a minimum of 6 months post registration experience. Previous experience in Haematology and Transfusion would be an advantage. You should also demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills in addition to possessing competent IT skills and a sound knowledge of how modern laboratories operate.

Trainee - To undertake and complete training and attain HCPC registration within a discipline/ disciplines in agreed timescales.
