We are looking for people who are interested to train up to work in the telecoms industry on copper to fibre conversion installations.

SI (Self Install) - This is a Conversion of an existing ADSL, (copper service) to VDSL (Fibre to cabinet Service). Work usually takes place in the Openreach Primary Connection Point (Cabinet) with an occasional requirement to enter the DSLAM (Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer). There is usually no requirement to visit the customers premises. Simple tasks usually take approximately 30 minutes to complete. (Excluding travel to the cabinet location)
Using a non contact voltage detector, prior to entering the cabinet or DSLAM. Correctly Identifying the specified circuit in the cabinet. Carrying out multiple tests of the specified circuit using call platform technology and approved engineer held testers. Running new copper jumper wires to connect the existing copper service to the fibre ports in the cabinet. Accessing the DSLAM to make simple checks and when necessary. Resolving issues using Openreach support services by TEXT and other automated platforms. Leaving the worksite completely free of litter, both inside and immediately outside the cabinet or DSLAM. Providing digital evidence, (Geotagged photographs of your completed work)
You will have the following qualifications and be able to prove experience and competence:
· Must hold a full UK driving licence
· Excellent communication skills
· Hold a valid NRSWA street works Operative unit 2 card (desirable)
· Risk assessment and hazard identification and a strong focus on Health and Safety practices.

Contract Duration & Rates
This is a long-term contract role and you will be paid for the jobs you complete
Estimated jobs to be completed each day will be around 11 per day @ £15.50 per job, however it is possible to complete 16+ jobs in a day
The rate above is inclusive of fuel rate.
Many of these jobs will be located close to each other or even in the same cabinet, so travel should be low.
Full training will be provided (Training to be undertaken at Risby – near Bury St Edmunds or Crawley)
· When on training you will be paid £80 per day (+ mileage)
· When buddying you will be paid £80 per day (+ mileage)
