In this role, you'll be part of a multi-disciplinary, collaborative group at Kew - a vital part of the World Forest ID (WFID, www.worldforestid.org) consortium. WFID is developing a global geo-referenced and curated wood collection - plus associated materials and datasets. These will be used to further research, support sustainable forest management and assist enforcement agencies in tackling the illegal timber trade.

A clear communicator with good computer skills, you must be an organised individual able to multi-task when necessary but also able to undertake more routine tasks when required, with an eye for detail. You will be involved in organising the import and export of biological samples, processing them to ensure they are safe and legal, dealing with administration and ensuring work areas are safe and clean. Our ideal candidate will have practical experience of laboratory work, a keen interest in the natural world and an ability to see the bigger picture.
To be successful in this role you'll need to be an enthusiastic team player, with patience and a good sense of humour, who is also able to work on your own initiative.

The salary will be £24,252 - £26,947 per annum (pro rata), depending on skills and experience.
