WHAT TO EXPECT
The Opportunity
The role of a Product Coach is to support to the delivery of new products into the production environment to quality, cost and time. As the subject matter expert on new products and processes a product coach will write detailed work instructions, deliver bespoke operator training and coordinate the issue management process.
Post Launch cycle, Job 1 +90, BAU resourcing to be reviewed, scope for redeployment across Mfg facility at same operating grade


Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Your key accountabilities and responsibilities include:

  • Upfront CAD analysis and virtual builds – early identification of DFA concerns
  • Support Make Like Production events
  • Support vendor build events – national/ international
  • Write detailed operator work instructions (QPS and WES) – IPS support
  • Training and development of production operators – Train the Trainer?
  • Online BoM and template overcheck for validation
  • Load Launch powertrain products from the scheduler and manage build events through line
  • Capture, track, fix and manage issues through 5F, AIMS and CCAR meetings
  • Identify ergonomic risks & Health & Safety concerns, supporting with identification of ICA/ PCA solutions – problem solving
  • Deliver containment solutions including Blue WES and manning IPCs
  • Using SAP to track, reinsert, locate and modify powertrain products – SAP&TAG
  • Organising and delivering powertrain product for Build Batch and Hold
  • Undertake SBI audits/ SWC/ Process Audits
  • Develop and rollout a lessons learnt adoption programme from the best practice identified from benchmarking activities
  • BAU – management of QPS/ WES, support process teams/ change management
  • Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Knowledge and Experience
Essential:
  • Experience in an automotive environment
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate with different levels of the organisation
  • Strong interpersonal and organisational skills, confidence, enthusiasm and willingness to learn and develop
  • Writing/amending QPS and WES
  • Hands on experience of problem solving and implementing solutions
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing and associated techniques
  • Appreciation of the importance of a quality and safety mind-set
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Hands on experience using manual assembly tools/ knowledge of manual build techniques


Desirable:

  • Previous launch experience/exposure
  • Engineering background
  • Training experience
  • CAD Analysis experience
  • SAP experience
  • Issue management experience 5F, AIMS, CCAR
  • Experience across different JLR sites
  • Understanding of PCDS
  • Understanding of Quality cascade through PFMEAs, Control plans and GSPAS
