Your role at Orbit.
Orbit are excited to announce that we are looking to recruit an Environmental Sustainability Manager into our award winning Environmental Sustainability team. In this role you will be working with the Head of Environmental Sustainability to develop and implement a robust environmental strategy for Orbit. You will lead on the ongoing development and implementation of Orbit’s environmental management system and maintenance of ISO14001 certification.
You will continue to develop our Orbit Earth programme with a focus on stakeholder engagement, Zero Waste and Biodiversity. You will maintain and improve our environmental reporting functions and support the operation of our Environmental Management System and Net Zero Carbon strategy.
This role will lead on the ongoing development and delivery of our environmental training offering and status as an IEMA-approved training centre, where you will need to work with a variety of stakeholders to build relationships, awareness and improvements in environmental performance to help achieve our corporate strategy.
What will help you make a difference.
To be successful in this role of Environmental Sustainability Manager you will need to have a passion for, and up to date knowledge of, environmental sustainability, you will need to be an expert communicator who is confident at presenting with the ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships.
It is also essential that you have/be:

Experience with environmental management systems certified to ISO14001:2015

Ability to influence others and work both as part of a team and as a leader within a team

Experience in developing and implementing complex and long-term strategies
-
Ability to think analytically, to apply skills and knowledge in new contexts and to problem solve

Experience in delivering environmental training
-
Comfortable analysing data and presenting findings

Ability to travel and work independently from home or another remote setting
-
Educated to degree level or with equivalent professional qualification
It would also be beneficial if you hold a membership of a relevant professional body i.e Practitioner Member of IEMA and have experience in construction, property management or a similar sector.
