Are you passionate about visitor experience? We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking, and positive customer service person to work at Sarehole Mill as a Museum Enabler. Working Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, 5:15 hours per day
In our historic building, Tea Room and shop, you’ll be ensuring that everyone who walks through the doors of our museum has a great experience! These are the kind of experiences you’ll have working for us:
Selling memberships and tickets
Upselling guidebooks in the shop
Assisting visitors with access needs
Introducing the museum collections through guided tours, talks and demonstrations
Supporting event days- everything from festivals and weddings to ghost tours!
Serving delicious pizzas in the courtyard
Making the perfect latte in the Miller's Tea Room and ensuring the highest standards of food hygiene
You’ll need to be confident with great verbal communication skills to excel in this role. Our successful candidate will have an aptitude for sales, will be calm under pressure and will take real pleasure in delivering an excellent visitor experience every day, no matter what that day throws at you. You'll be the sort of person who is keen to roll up their sleeves and get stuck into whatever task they are set.
This role is based at Sarehole Mill however our successful candidate will get a broad experience of all areas of visitor operations in a cultural attraction by occasionally working across our other Birmingham Museums Trust properties which include Blakesley Hall, Museum of the Jewellery Quarter, Aston Hall, Soho House, Thinktank and Weoley Castle.

Interviews/Selection Day will take place on the 7th March 2023 at the Museum of the Jewellery Quarter. The panel will consist of Kimberley Biddle (Museum Manager) and Ben Nichols (Museum Team Manager). In advance of the interview you will receive a copy of the interview questions to prepare and you will have an opportunity to express and reasonable adjustments you might need.
