Position Summary:
Process customer quotes.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

· Prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
· Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
· Prepare, issue, receive and review supplier and subcontractor proposals and pricing.
· Coordinate with the client on all changes in scope, questions or clarifications regarding the work, during the bidding process.
· Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
· Presents prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
· Maintain cost data base by entering data (Price change process).
· Act as a resource to project management during the award / start-up phase to clarify any issues regarding what was considered in the estimate including materials and methods
· Review budget and project profitability status (job cost) and goals with supervisor and project team as required.
· Seek input on corrective measures to continuously improve the identification and accuracy of cost figures
· Act as a resource for project management by providing cost information and develop cost estimates for changes in the work
· Establish and maintain working relationships with vendors and subcontractors
· Manage bid pricing from all vendors
· Ensure timely completion of estimates
· Maintain and update the quote log
· Track progress of RFQ to PO with follow up calls and document progress in the quote log
· Create robust part masters
· Assist customer service
· Conduct risk analysis
· Assist in SRD process
· Increase sales
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
· Revise Travelers
· Assist with improving C&H procedures and work instructions
Job Qualification Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
· Work experience as a machinist with proficiency in reading blueprints.
Requirements:
· Good leadership and communication skills (oral, business writing, and listening)
· Strong problem-solving skills
· High level of communication between internal and external customers
· Well-developed professional qualities (decisiveness, commitment, initiative, impact, energy and drive)
· Ability to communicate effectively to customers and people in all levels of the organization
Work Experience:
· Experience in machining and estimating.
Education:
· High School diploma or GED
· College or Technical Institute courses in machining desired
· Work experience as a machinist is beneficial
