LOCATION: Hull University Campus – Commutable from Leeds, York, Sheffield, Lincoln, Wakefield
WORK PATTERN: Campus based position with flexible/hybrid policy for project work after short probationary period. You will likely be supported by additional Sexual Violence Support Officers as the role progresses.

THE ROLE:
This newly created position offers an exciting and challenging opportunity to shape the provision of sexual violence support and prevention at the University of Hull.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated candidate to play a pivotal role in shaping our response to Sexual Misconduct, Violence and Harassment through the provision of specialist, impartial advice, emotional and practical support to students who have experienced any form of Sexual Misconduct, Violence and/or Harassment. The role will also contribute to shaping policy, best practice, and guidance.
The LSVPS will be responsible for the overall development and delivery of the service, which will include recruiting and coordinating a group of Sexual Violence Liaison Officers to ensure students receive a confidential, responsive, and reliable service providing trauma-informed, individualised, and impartial support for all matters relating to Sexual Misconduct, Violence and Harassment.
The LSVPS will be expected to work dynamically and collaboratively across the University to develop and sustain partnerships with external agencies to influence, develop and enhance the support available to our students and staff. The LSVPS will also assume responsibility for activities relating to prevention and culture change in this area.
The ideal candidate will have considerable experience of working in a service to deliver 1:1 support, advice and guidance to adults who have experienced sexual violence and will have a demonstrable understanding of the impact of and dynamics surrounding sexual violence. The role holder will ideally possess an accredited Independent Sexual Violence Advisers (ISVA) qualification, however, applicants without this, but with relevant experience, will be considered. The candidate will be experienced in assessing risk, as well as possessing knowledge of relevant legislation and UK legal processes.
Utilising excellent interpersonal and communications skills, the role holder will have an empathic style and an ability to build trust and credibility. Emotional resilience, understanding of professional boundaries, the ability to work autonomously and calmly under pressure will also be key attributes of the role.
