Are you an early career researcher looking for a challenge? Do you have an interest in physical activity promotion in people living with and beyond cancer? Do you want to further your career in one of the UK’s leading research intensive Universities?
Leeds Institute of Health Sciences are looking to recruit two Research Assistants to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team on the Yorkshire Cancer Research-funded APPROACH study. APPROACH is exploring the potential of a mobile phone application to increase physical activity in patients with a diagnosis of breast, prostate or colorectal cancer.
The post holder will work closely with the local co-investigator (Dr Rebecca Beeken) and study manager (Dr Fiona Kennedy), and with the Principal Investigators based at University College London (Dr Abi Fisher and Dr Pippa Lally). They will contribute to the day-to-day running of the study, site set-up and recruitment of participants and data collection.
The post holder will need to be able to work independently in a hospital setting and work with NHS staff to identify and invite participants to the trial. Experience of working in this setting would be an advantage. As they will work within a collaborative project team who are working across a number of sites, they will also need excellent communication skills.
Name Rebecca Beeken, Associate Professor of Behavioural Medicine
