An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Data Analyst Apprentice to join our team in Berkshire. Hours of work are 0745am -1630pm (16:15pm on Friday). You will have full training and support through your qualification.
Job Purpose:
- Work with the Business Information Analysis Manager to support the design and development of data visualisations and analytical solutions to support the operational need.
- Support the data analytics team in the development of accurate and time bound whilst maintaining the data structure and standards for EMCOR systems in conjunction with the application / data owners, or subject matter experts
- Provide project support to ad-hoc issues and requests when required
- Working to the above whilst completing a Data Analyst Level 4 Apprenticeship
Duties:
- Support the Business Information Analysis Manager generating and analysing data and trend analysis across a selection of operational risk dashboards
- Ensures data quality within platform products, Smartsheets, Power BI Dashboard etc through regular updates and maintenance
- Interrogate and present data to quantify and support topic specific reports
- Provide data 'mining' activities to enable business decisions to be made based on findings from data analysis
- Provide data cleansing and data management services, on an approved and requested basis
- Provide project specific resource to support commissioning, decommissioning and troubleshooting
- Provide support to data analytics team
- Assist the account in generating improvement initiatives
- Provide software or programming testing services as required, on an approved and requested basis
- Assist in troubleshooting software application issues including Excel, Power BI and Smartsheet
- Assist on specialist projects to create data collation efficiencies, develop visualisation boards to support business improvement activities
Skills:
- Working towards the qualification Level 4 Data Analyst Apprenticeship standard
- Basic software development and/or data manipulation (SQL) skills would be desirable with a keen interest to learn new technologies
- The ability to use project management tools such as Microsoft Power BI or Smartsheet online project management tools.
- Good knowledge of Excel and statistical functions
- A patient and "customer first" manner essential for this role, and being prepared to go the extra mile to complete the task on time, and to high standard
- A proactive and "can do" approach is key to the successful outcome for the department and this role
- Attention to detail and accuracy is critical along with a strong problem solving and analytical mindset
- Prioritisation and planning is a key feature of this role, and the role requires that the individual should be able to manage their time to provide successful outcomes for the business
